B*Grade pins are reduced in price. They were pins which had minor defects in their final production. Such flaws include small chips in the gold outline, and very faded smudges which can happen during the stamping process of creating enamel pins. The smudges are not dark and are only noticed when looked at closely; they are not visible from a regular distance. However, the clasps on the back are equally secure and in good condition as the A*Grades.
